How to assess our fitness?

An interesting article came across my radar on “How many push-ups should you be able to do?” Push-ups are a regular part of my morning stretch and exercise routine. Since I was a child I knew there was a minimum push-up requirement to be in the US Army, as my father had served and was aware, but I hadn’t actually contemplated what would be considered “adequate”. Thankfully, this article enlightened me! I would encourage you to explore this article, as well as the broader link to “fitness assessment protocols”, which can be found here, which explains in good detail how to assess different aspects of your fitness, including cardio-respiratory, muscle strength, posture, movement, balance, and flexibility! It’s ok to start slow and build up the number over time— the key is consistency! Start today. Build your strength, and feel good.
